Wow it’s already week six for the giveaway! I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone.  Well the GelaSkins giveaway for this week is Robo.

Here’s a little information about the artist you guys may find interesting:

Nathan T. Ota always found himself drawing pictures over doing his homework by copying various cartoons, comic books, photographs and old punk rock flyers. Nathan’s first influences started from looking at his older brother’s Frank Frazetta calendars and Vampirella comics. His mother, also an artist, and Father encouraged and supported his love for art at an early age.

Rough Night Out

Update – due to the contest starting late last week and my travels the GelaSkins giveaway this week has been extended until Wed 3/26/08 Midnight so get those comments posted!  At that time I’ll post the New GelaSkins giveaway for the week and the remaining giveaways will be from Wed to Wed.

This weeks GelaSkin’s give away is Rough Night Out. It’s by artist Bob Dob Born and raised in Hermosa Beach, California, Bob Dob cultivated a taste for adolescent unrest early on, expressing his talent through music, playing guitar in a punk band named Lunacy. Transmutation from music to art was a natural progression for him.

We are sure you guys are going to love this one. It was a hard one to giveaway since I may be getting an iPhone. This should go over well with realese Super Smash Brothers Brawl last week. Man I love this skin! The picture above is for the iPod but the GelaSkin is for the iPhone. I would have included the picture I took but the picture above gives a better representation of the artist work.

Hey guys the good humans over at MusicIP have given me a big box of ear buds to give away. They would like for me to review their MusicIP Mixer product. Well I’m sure you guys are wondering what the heck is MusicIP? Well lets get into that right now.

What is it

Well MusicIP Mixer is a way to pick songs from your music collection without having to make up the playlist yourself. The MusicIP Mixer will upload a list of the songs you have to a central server and pick songs to build your playlist.

How does it Work

Well after you download the free MusicIP Mixer it goes through your music collection. You pick the folder where you music is stored and MusicIP Mixer
goes to work listing all the songs you have along with the Genres, Artist, and Albums.

The thing I found interesting about this application is the little green button that reminds me of the little AOL guy. Press this button once and your music collection is scanned, but press it twice and it will build a playlist of songs that are related to the song you have chosen. So you choose a song that you happen to be in the mood to hear and it will grab a number of tracks to play.

Another great feature of this software is the ability to produce an html report that can be save to your computer and viewed in any web browser. This was by far the feature that sold me on this application. BJ had no idea he had 164 hours of music. It was great to see every artist and the name of albums I forgot I had. Here’s a bit of my report:

MusicMagic Mixer Library Report

Disk space 10.9GB
Time 164:57 hr

Cafe Del Mar Classics III (1 of 12)

Arthuro Sandoval

I Got No Kick Against Modern Jazz: A GRP Artists’ Celebration Of The Songs Of The Beatles (1 of 14)

Is that cool or what??

Something that’s not so cool is I’m afraid MusicIP Mixer may scare off some users because it’s not exactly point and click. Like for instance if you want to define a mood. You click on moods in the top menu bar and can save the mood you are in as a mood you define or save it as a binary mood?? What?? What the heck is that? Ok MusicIP Mixer Guys you really should give people a choice of moods along with the option to define custom moods. I think this will confuse some and may turn them off to that feature.

Should I buy it

I say try the free version out first. MusicIP Mixer is a solid application for managing a large music collection. MusicIP Mixer does a much better job than iTunes or the Zune Music interface for creating play list and tracking your music. Overall BJ likes MusicIP Mixer. This one is “BJ Recommended”

To get your MusicIP Ear Buds all you have to do is try out MusicIP and let me know what you think. That’s it. I’ve got 60 pair and I think they are going to go quick so get to downloading and let BJ know if you love it or hate it.

A visual aesthetic ranging from anime and manga, to the French art nouveau movement and traditional Japanese scroll art, Aya Kato transforms a common fairytale or love story into a passionate and vivid art piece. Visit her website for a special visual treat. I almost kept this one for myself humans so feel lucky this one is up for grabs.
